My Projects - Rice2k

Welcome to the Projects section of Rice2k.com! This is where I share the cool stuff I’m working on, from retro web tools to nostalgic coding experiments. Inspired by the wild, pixelated days of the early internet, these projects are all about bringing back that Y2K vibe with a modern twist. Check out what’s in the works, and let me know your thoughts on the Contact page! ~ Rice2k

88x31 Button Generator

Status: In Progress

Remember those iconic 88x31 buttons from every Geocities site? I’m building a web-based tool to create your own, complete with retro fonts, glitter effects, and pixel art. You’ll be able to customize colors and text, then download your button for your site. Check out my Buttons page for inspiration!

Retro Guestbook Backend

Status: Planning

I’m working on a PHP backend for the guestbook snippet on my Coding Snips page. It’ll let visitors sign your site’s guestbook, just like the old days. Think blinking “Sign My Guestbook” GIFs and neon text entries. Planning to add spam protection and a retro-styled display!

AIM Profile Theme Builder

Status: In Progress

Taking my love for AIM to the next level with a tool to design custom AIM-style profiles. Add glittery GIFs, song lyrics, and HTML flair, then export it as a code snippet. Pairs perfectly with the AIM Progs I shared. Gotta bring back those “a/s/l” vibes!

Rice2k Link Exchange

Status: Early Development

Building a Link-Us system to create a retro-style link exchange network. Site owners can submit their 88x31 buttons to join the Rice2k webring, connecting retro web fans. It’s like a modern take on the old webring days, with a database to manage links!

Retro Web Layout Editor

Status: Planning

A drag-and-drop editor for creating retro-style web layouts, like the ones on my Free Web Layouts page. Think frames, marquees, and pixelated backgrounds. You’ll be able to build a Geocities-inspired site in minutes and export the HTML/CSS. Coming soon!

These are just the start of my retro coding adventures! Stay tuned for updates, and if you’ve got ideas or want to collab, hit me up on the Contact page. Let’s keep the early web spirit alive! ~ Rice2k
